A New Training Reality
Greg Reverdiau and Johann Beishline founded Pilot Institute in 2018 and have since grown their flight training curriculum to include Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot Certificate “made easy” courses.

If Pilot Institute sounds familiar, it’s likely because of the YouTube commercials in which Mr. Reverdiau stands humbly, hands clasped before the camera, inquiring after his audience-members’ aspirations to fly. “Do you want to be a pilot? What an amazing idea,” he sets forth.
Messrs. Reverdiau and Beishline are currently boots-down at SUN ‘n FUN’s sector LD-004 off Laird Blvd, east of the Sunset Grill. Event attendees are invited to check the outdoor exhibitor map for details insomuch as the gents, in 2023, have a genuinely fascinating technology tucked away in the Pilot Institute display tent.
Pilot Institute—which has graduated over 200,000 aviators through its courses—is keenly aware of the fact that people learn differently, and has developed its courseware in such a way that individual students are free to gravitate to the mode of learning that best suits him or her within the context of a common course purchase.
According to Jason Wood, UAS Program Lead, Pilot Institute has been making inroads into the virtual reality and 3-D realms in a vendor-agnostic way. Regardless of the Virtual Reality (VR) equipment employed—Meta Quest 2, Oculus Quest 2, Reverb G2, etc.—prospective pilots, by dint of Pilot Institute’s courseware, are assured an immersive, productive, enjoyable, and eminently educational learning experience.
Provisioned with VR goggles and controllers, aspiring aviators are able to go online and interactively explore whatever Pilot Institute courseware they’ve purchased. Traditionalists—those inclined more so to the written word and illustrations than immersive VR scenarios—may avail themselves of Pilot Institute’s PC and tablet curricula, available via browser.
Pilot Institute also produces a Commercial Drone Pilot (Part 107) course, and has—in addition to Real Estate, Photo, and Video courses—curated content specific to mapping, modeling, and surveying (as a bundle). The aforementioned courses, to the one, ensure learners reap maximum returns on their investments in flight instruction.

Parties interested in learning more about Pilot Institute’s curricula and courseware are invited to review the organization’s selected, free online courses.
Likewise, SUN ‘n FUN 2023 attendees are invited to stop by Pilot Institute’s tent and delve into the company’s VR technology. The experience of examining a full-size, dazzlingly-realistic, virtual Cessna-172 is unique and unforgettable. Pilot Institute staff will be on hand to ensure guests don’t stumble or otherwise become overly-immersed in the realism of the VR technology on display.
