Montaer Aircraft has been in a good mood throughout Sun 'n Fun 2024, posted up right along the hangar exhibitions and reaping all the interest that entails.
People are interested in the new LSA offerings they see, a pair of glossy new MC-01s gracing the Montaer tent. The Brazilian manufacturer is digging into the USDM to find its place as a nice, affordable, and modern alternative to buying decades-old aircraft for training and travel. Heading into Sun 'n Fun 2024, the brand had announced a small ceremony to inaugurate the Montaer name into service with Ocala Aviation, a Floridian flight school and maintenance provider.
Ocala recently announced a pretty large, double-digit order of new Montaer planes, which will bring with it a role as a Montaer sales, support, and service location. The all-metal, A/P and IFR-equipped MC-01 cut a pretty affordable alternative in a world of aging high-wings with finicky vacuum gauges, particularly for schools that have high student loads and little patience for breakdowns. Montaer highlighted one school that put the MC-01 into practice in recent history, noting that they went more than 4,100 hours without failure - not too shabby for a little Rotax engine.
Shalom Confessor, Executive Director of Montaer Aircraft, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership: “Aligning with Ocala Aviation, an institution with deep roots in aviation training and culture, significantly strengthens our position in the US market. This collaboration is designed to be mutually beneficial, ensuring both parties achieve substantial growth and success.”
