The FAA is seeking pilots attending SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo 2025 to participate in a PAID research study. You must be 60-64 years, have flown at least once in the past 6 months (sim time is ok too), and hold a current Class 3 medical certificate, not BasicMed.

The study session lasts about 4 hours and pays $300, which you receive immediately following completion!
The study procedure involves completion of two computerized cognitive tests related to tasks such as working memory, attention, mental rotation, and multitasking performance.
The study purpose is to obtain normative pilot data, i.e., standardized, for these tests. The tests are used to help recertify pilots for flying following a medical event like a stroke, head injury, or certain medications.
The results of the study will assist in ensuring that aeromedical decision-making is based on the most current scientific data and it also will contribute to the overall safety of the national airspace system.
The study has received FAA Institutional Review Board approval. IRB approval is required for any research study involving human subjects and is used to confirm ethical guidelines are being followed.
If you plan on attending the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo this year and you meet the criteria described above, the FAA would love to have you sign up! It’s PAID!
