AeroSys showed off their "digital co-pilot" at Sun 'n Fun 2024, demonstrating how useful "Goose" can be for general aviation.
Goose is their AI-based voice assistant, a computerized, digital co-pilot to help back up a Pilot in Command from startup to shutdown - and beyond. AeroSys says that Goose can handle the day-to-day flight routines, support with the custom procedures, and provide much-needed support during an emergency or critical flight condition. It's all voice-activated, too, requiring no physical switches, taps, scrolls, or clicks. Goose simply helps you walk through the appropriate checklist for your aircraft, keeping your eyes where they belong: Outside the cockpit.
Of course, AeroSys had to pack in a little bit more than that, so they engineered Goose to be able to run on standard mobile devices. He's not limited to a standard spectrum of GA aircraft, either, anything from funky experimentals and rare vintage fighters to jets and multi-engine helicopters can be used with the digital co-pilot.
Even better, AeroSys helps take care of that pesky bookkeeping after the flight, putting Goose to work on tracking aircraft startup and shutdown, distances, and even the level of interaction with checklists and procedures. That's pretty handy for those who want to quantify just how closely they're keeping to the book. Afterwards, Goose uploads the flight logs and creates a detailed debrief.
