The Exclusive Innovation Preview Presented By Aero-News Showcased New Technologies
Almost two dozen exhibitors presented the latest in cutting edge innovations at the Innovation Preview presented by Aero-News Monday at Sun ‘n Fun in Lakeland, Florida.

Ranging from carbon fiber advancements in propellers and airframe construction to new light sport aircraft advancements. “Investment in carbon fiber technology is a significant advantage, “said J.J. Frigge, President of Hartzell Propeller. New engine technology was a highlight presented by DeltaHawk especially important for Sport Aviation, with a stunning two-cylinder version of the DH series aero-diesels that should make the folks at Rotax nervous.
Jim Campbell of Aero-News presented the importance of the annual Affordable Flying Expo, a more intimate each November in Lakeland where people interested in aviation can “meet real aviators showing how aviation can be done.” Gleim Aviation also discussed the importance of the new Mosaic rules and its importance for flight schools and sport pilots. Jamail Larkins of Aviation Start talked about how his organization is “developing programs and education to get the next generation involving in aviation” and helping provide scholarships to the next generation.
The introduction to the Innovation Preview was done by Gene Conrad, President and CEO of SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo, highlighted the growth of the event from the 210,000 attendees in 2025 which is increasing in 2026. Last year there were 18,000+ cars parked on Saturday, over 80 countries represented, 561 exhibitors, 500+ forums and workshops and 702 media representatives.
