Apologies To The Certified Aircraft Owners...
If you’re Patty Wagstaff, you’ve got Barrett Precision Engines (BPE) on speed-dial, not because they’re a problem child, but because they create engines that are works of art (for experimental aircraft), they overhaul existing engines to better than originally manufactured tolerances, and if you’re in the experimental realm, then you can work with BPE to modify your engines.

Apologies to the certified aircraft owners, BPE mods are NOT available for you!
Furthermore BPE is a FAA-certified Class 1 Powerplant Repair Station that overhauls certified Continental and Lycoming engines to “factory new limits”, going above and beyond in their testing to tolerances, and providing the full test report if you desire. The have some models in stock and can facilitate an exchange to minimize downtime. Naturally, BPE also performs prop-strike inspections, tear-down inspections, crankshaft balancing, painting, and more.

BPE (formerly Barrett Performance Aircraft) is a family-owned entity, founded by Monty Barrett who, upon completing a homebuilt Steen Skybolt in 1983 and recreationally competing in aerobatics, soon began building engines for the likes of Hale Wallace, Wayne Handley, Tom Jones those of you from a time back when who avidly followed the circuit may remember those names!

Today, BPE is run by Rhonda-Barrett Bewley, who is actively involved in the daily operations of the business, and in our brief chat with her, she stated that the N14 is the most widely used engine in the world, and they typically produce 10-12 in a given year. BPE is a household name for the likes for Yak, Sukhoi, Moose.
Stop by their tent off Laird in NE-038 and say hello or see if they can help you with your powerplant needs!
