Ash Vij, Founder and President of Guardian Avionics, presented updates at the Innovation Preview segment of the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida, on March 31, recapping some of the 25-year history of the company including its CO detectors.

Guardian CO detectors are standard in all new Cessna, Cirrus, Diamond, Piper, and other OEMs.The company brought out its iPad panel mounts to take up empty space on the right side of the panel and creates a multi-MFD display for a relatively small investment. And this year Guardian introduced the iPhone mount that has an integrated charger and a locking mechanism for aerobatic flight.
Guardian offers the smartPlane Flight Data Link MFD-851 that is based on its installed carbon monoxide detectors. smartPlane products connect with GPS, Engine Management, and Primary Flight Display systems through a hard-wired RS-232 connection. This enables position, navigation, attitude, carbon monoxide, and engine data to be gathered and transmitted to the smartMFD app and the smartCloud web app.
The smartPlane system increases safety and improves aircraft efficiency to help owners and operators save on maintenance issues. Its functions also include Real-time Aircraft Tracking, Electronic Flight Bag, Moving Map, Pilot Logbook, Aircraft Flight Logs, and Discrepancy Reports (squawks), smartPlane saves the expense of separate subscriptions for those features.
Guardian Avionics is in Hangar B, Booth 057.
