This year we went above and beyond, swinging for the fences with as many kooky stories as we could think of - everything from "what if?…" news stories to glimpses of a possible future yet to come. This year, we've been swinging for the fences, too, with nothing too off-the wall - Did you hear about the new mini A-380 Airbus released at Sun 'n Fun? What about the impending FAA Rule banning all gas engines in the next 2 years? Beech bringing back the Starship? What about the Yoplait-sponsored NASA mission to Mars? Have you seen the NBAA is now sponsored by a gambling company? That's just the start!
Santa Monica airport has been sold to the good guys, the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds are swapping planes for a day, the Cirrus Vision Jet is getting a drogue chute, and the FAA is going whole-hog on 'neopronouncs' for aircraft. The DoD is selling F-22 lookalike LSA's, the Taliban's having a yard sale, PETA's suing Ameriflight, and Cessna now offers their wares without any avionics whatsoever.
